Octoball Derby is a minigame in A Link Between Worlds.[1] It is run by the Derby Boy, the Derby Girl, and Octo.

Gameplay

During the minigame, an Octorok named Octo will pitch 30 balls that Link tries to hit into pots to smash them. Hitting a red pot will score one point, while hitting a gold pot will score five points. Upon three consecutive hits, a Crow will appear, which awards 20 points if hit. Failing to hit a target will interrupt the streak. Hitting a Sand Crab will respawn all pots. Hitting Octo will cause an instant pitch (as long as there is still a ball left), leaving little reaction time.

Link aims his pitches using the timing of his hit and his stance. Hitting the ball early causes it to go to the right; conversely, hitting it later causes it to go to the left. Link has three possible stances: leaning back, neutral, and leaning forward. Link can lean forward by pushing the circle pad up, causing the ball to roll along the ground; he can lean back by pushing the circle pad down, causing the ball to fly up high. Leaving the vertical axis of the circle pad in neutral position keeps Link in his neutral stance.

For each point scored Link will win receive a Rupee. If 100 or more points are scored, a Piece of Heart will also be awarded.

The biggest change in A Link Between Worlds is Link's new ability to merge into walls after completing Hyrule Castle. This nifty new feature allows you to slide into walls and navigate across areas in a different way. For example, perhaps you're stuck in a dungeon and you spot a switch on a far ledge that cannot be reached on foot.

Trivia

  • If Link has a Rod equipped to his first item slot, he will use it instead of the stick.
  • Despite Octoball Derby taking place in Lorule, the enemy species used in the game are more common in Hyrule.

Nomenclature

The Octoball Derby's English name is an allusion to a Home run derby. The minigame's Spanish and French names in the North American version of the game appear to imply their location being a sports stadium.

Description
WorldSelector is a World Selector plugin. And yes, I am aware that that is pretty obvious, but I needed something to start the description with. Going on. The plugin allows for you to select an item that, when right clicked, will open a GUI with a list of worlds to teleport to. Very useful if you have a non-bungee server with multiple worlds.
Quick note: I have received PM's from multiple users asking me how to get the compass. The compass is a normal vanilla compass, which you can get trough the creative inventory. To give the compass to users use a plugin that has the ability to give players items when they join. I will add an option for this in future updates. The future is now, I have added it with the latest update
Features
¤ Completely configurable!
¤ Up to 54 slots!
¤ Permission system that allows you to make certain worlds visible only to vips or staff!
¤ The GUI can only be opened in one of the specified worlds! This means that you can select an item without fear that players start to accidentally open up the GUI while playing!
¤ The name and lore of items support placeholders, allowing for a personalised GUI!
¤ Send players a welcome message after teleporting to a world!
¤ Contains a debug mode to allow you to easily find where the problem lays if you get an error!
¤ New: Give players the item used to open the GUI on join, but only if they join in a specified world!
¤ New: LinkGive players the item used to open the GUI when they change worlds and join the lobby world via teleportation or portals!
¤ New: The item opening the GUI has full attribute support, meaning you can specify a name, lore and more!
¤ New: Open the GUI instantly using the /worldselector command!
Placeholders
%playername% = The name of the player that uses the GUI
%onlineplayers% = The amount of players currently online on the server
%worldonlineplayers% = The amount of players in the world selected under teleportation.
Expect more in future updates. If you have suggestions for placeholders, please PM me or go over to the recourse section

Commands and Permissions

worldselector.get

Allows the user to use the command /worldselector to either open the GUI or get the item used to open it, depends on your configuration.
worldselector.admin
Allows the access to the main command /worldselector and its subcommands.
The subcommands are:
reload - Reloads the config file
setspawn - Sets the point where players going to that world will spawn
getworld - Gets the world name
reference - Opens an inventory with 54 slots, with all slots numbered. This allows for an easy reference when creating your GUI.
debug - Starts the debug. Use this when you run into error. It should be user-friendly and help you with finding the error.
addworld - Add the world you are in to the list of allowed worlds (You can also do this from the config). In allowed worlds the compass (or what you specified) can be used as world selector. In other worlds it will just act like a normal item.
worldselector.slot.x
x can be any number between 1-54. Everyone has this permission by default. If you do not have the permission for example for slot 5, than whatever item is displayed in slot 5 is not displayed to you, but instead the item from the config called 'replacement' will be shown. This allows you to have certain worlds accessible only to staff or VIP-players.

These are outdated. GUI can now be way bigger. Will update the pictures at some point.
The same GUI, but now for someone who doesn't have the permission worldselector.slot.6:

Installation

  1. Download the plugin
  2. Drop the .jar file in your /plugins folder
  3. Restart or reload the server
  4. Configure the plugin

Usage
(Please don't get scared from the big list, its very easy. I just tend to over specify things)
To use the plugin, follow the following steps:
  1. Go to the worlds you want as destination, and get the name of the world using /worldselector getname. Remember it or write it down somewhere.
  2. Go to the config, and edit the list of displayed items. Please check the Config section if anything confuses you.
  3. In the config, set for every item you want to use to teleport 'enabled' to true, and add the worldname you got from '/worldselector getname'.
  4. Go to the destination world and use '/worldselector setspawn' to set the point players will get teleported to.
  5. Go to the world you travel from, get the name and add it to the list of allowed worlds in the config.
  6. Go to the config, and select the item players must use to open the gui, by default the compass.
  7. If everything went correctly, opening the compass will now display the correct list of items, and clicking on one should teleport you to the correct world.
